During the recording and release of Pearl Jam's third album "Vitalogy", released in December of 1994, and during the time shortly
thereafter, the band was definitely experiencing a turbulent time. Some months before the
release of Vitalogy, Pearl Jam parted ways with their third drummer, Dave Abbruzzese, and signed on with their fourth
drummer and friend Jack Irons. They also decided to tackle some issues head-on, including the monopolization of the ticket industry by
Ticketmaster (which controls at least 90% of the American ticket market), and speaking through civil groups such as the Artists for a
Hate Free America and Voters for Choice. Personal issues such as the death of Kurt Cobain and the
huge amount of success and popularity weighed heavily on the band members, and rumors swirled about an impending break-up. A tour during 1995
almost proved to be a disaster, where concerts had to be cancelled and rescheduled, and fans of the band were starting to feel shut-out and somewhat disillusioned. But
in the second half of 1995, Pearl Jam proved that they could survive, strengthed its resolve, and persisted through all the turmoil.
In this section, our goal is to display all the known commerical and promotional posters for Pearl Jam that started
distribution after their third album "Vitalogy", and up to their fourth album "No Code", and in no real particular order. This also
includes promotional posters that were for a range of cities as well. Again, there is not really a lot to say about most of
them individually...most of them being arguably the most common Pearl Jam posters available.
NOTE: Again, please feel free to contact us if we are missing something (but do note that we are not interested in "posters" from magazines)!
