Here's How the Game Was Played:

Okay, this time around it was a "live" trivia contest. At 12:00pm EST on Tuesday, June 25th, 2002, whoever was logged onto the board could play and try and win these posters. The players were warned that they probably wouldn't know the answers to the questions, but they should have been able to find the answers quickly using their favorite internet search engine (so obviously, unfortunately, people with a high-speed internet connection had an advantage here).

    RULES:

    1) Once a question is asked, the first person to post the correct response will get one point.
    2) Whenever a person gets two points, they will win the poster currently up for grabs.
    1) If no one posts the correct answer after a minute or two, another hint will be given, until a total of three hints are given.
    2) After the three hints for a question are given, if no one can still not give an answer, then that question is voided, and we will move onto the next question.
    3) If there are two questions in a row that can't be answered, then that particular poster is skipped and put back into the potluck pile (this will hopefully prevent everyone from stalling on a poster).
    4) A total of 25 questions will be asked...no more. If after 25 questions, and not all the posters are taken, then they will be put back into the potluck pile.
    5) Whenever you win a poster, you are out of rest of the game.
    6) The posters will be given away in exactly this order:

So if you really want the New York poster, it wouldn't make much sense to answer the first two questions right, because you would have won the Germany poster, putting you out for the rest of the game.

So four posters...four winners. To give the players a heads up they were warned that, for the most part, the questions were not be Pearl Jam-related. Anyone could play, even the members who donated the posters, and even Mike and Jason.

To read the whole transaction, click on the following links. It was pretty exciting!

(Note: This was taken from two threads on the board. During the contest, the initial topic screwed up (this was on an earlier incarnation of the board that gave us some bugs every once in awhile), so another topic was started so that the contest could continue. During the rebuilding of the first thread later on, a couple of the posts were unintentionally deleted. But it is still easy to follow along...)
